Ardmore Guest Farm — Champagne Valley, Central Drakensberg
Ardmore Guest Farm is a family-run, pet-friendly guest farm on 150 hectares in Champagne Valley, in the heart of the Central Drakensberg, under the Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle skyline. Seventeen units sleep up to 58 guests, so we suit everyone from a couple after a quiet weekend to a full family reunion or a corporate group taking the whole farm.
Stay the way that suits you. Choose self-catering and cook for yourself, bed & breakfast, or dinner, bed & breakfast. Our restaurant serves hearty country food built around local and farm produce, with a wine list curated for the valley rather than lifted off a distributor’s catalogue — ask about a wine tasting if you want to work through it properly.
Between meals there is space to do nothing at all. Walk the farm, cast a line at our fishing waters, set up at one of our picnic spots, or book spa treatments and a soak in a jacuzzi spa bath. Birders do well here: 211 species have been recorded in the area, from the resident bush species to the raptors working the escarpment. Dogs are welcome, which is why a lot of our guests keep coming back.
We also host weddings and conferences. The setting does most of the work for a Drakensberg wedding, and our conferencing setup handles teams that need to actually get something done — backed by 140kW of solar and generator support, so power outages don’t derail your programme.
Champagne Valley puts you within easy reach of Monk’s Cowl, the Drakensberg Boys Choir School, Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey Centre, the Drakensberg Extreme Adventure park, and the valley’s craft and gallery route.
