Drakensberg MTB Trails

Drakensberg MTB Trails

You really couldn’t ask for a better place to cycle – awesome weather all year round, breath-taking scenery, varied terrain and very little traffic.

The weather in the berg is, on the whole, great for mountain biking – long summer days with without stifling humidity, crisp winter sunshine which makes being on your bike a treat, gorgeous autumn colouring and mild spring days make it the ideal cycling destination.

The scenery speaks for itself. There aren’t many places in the world where you can enjoy the beauty of a UNESCO World Heritage Site from the saddle of your bike. The terrain offers something for everyone – whether its quiet district roads, groomed single track, or gnarly climbs and descents - nobody will leave disappointed. The funny thing is that not many people seem to know about this, and so the mountain bike trails are never over run with cycling traffic.

There are also many organised MTB races and mountain bike events which take place throughout the year in the Drakensberg,  Take a look at our Events page to find out what MTB races are coming up.
