Stocked trout dams are situated at the Royal Natal situated in the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site. Guests are required to bring their own fishing rods, and only fly fishing is permitted. An entrance fee is payable upon entry to the park and a fishing permit must be obtained from the Visitor’s Centre.

7000ha water wonder on the Free State KZN border provides an expansive space for fishing. The fly-fishing here ranks as one of the finest yellowfish hotspots in South Africa. Also a good destination for bass fishing. Permits are available at the Entrance Gate.
SPIONKOP DAM NATURE RESERVE

Woodstock Dam fishing includes carp, bass and barbel. An annual bass competition takes place at Woodstock.
