Dive into one of South Africa’s most iconic open-water swimming events! The Swim4Life Sterkfontein Swim returns to the crystal-clear waters of Sterkfontein Dam for its 25th edition.

First held in 2001, this family-run event has become one of the oldest and most beloved open-water swims in the country.

Hosted by Swim4Life, the event brings swimmers, families, and the local community together for a day of fitness, fun, and friendship — all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Free State highlands near Harrismith.

Sterkfontein 3000m (Open Event)

* All ages compete together

* Entry Fee: R330 (pre-entry) | R400 (on the day)

Sterkfontein 1500m

* Age Groups:

* 13 & under (boys and girls)

* 14–30 (men and women)

* 31–50 (men and women)

* 51–70 (men and women)

* 71+ (men and women – new category!)

* Entry Fee: R280 (pre-entry) | R350 (on the day)
